Perspective

A method used to render the illusion of depth on a flat surface. There are several methods (including linear and aerial, defined above). In art and visual perception rudolf arnheim uses the term isometric perspective to describe pictures in which a system of parallel lines (i.e. Without vanishing toward a horizon) run diagonally through the picture to indicate the limits of depicted objects; this method is used in much chinese and japanese art.
