Physiological plasticity
Referring to the physical moldability of an organism as it is developing. This flexibility allows environmental forces to alter the genetically predetermined shape of our bodies to some extent. Example: permanent changes in the shape and position of foot bones resulting from the old Chinese practise of binding, or tightly wrapping, the feet of girls.
