Pittosporum
Genus of about 200 species of usually evergreen shrubs and trees, a few epiphytic, found in habitats ranging from sandy savanna to rainforest, in Australia, southern Africa, S. and E. Asia, and the Pacific islands. Pittosporum can be grown into a large plant but it has a slow growth rate. Small plants are often used for terrariums and dish gardens. Medium light intensity or partial sun is best. Any good potting soil may be used. Temperatures should be between 55 and 70 degrees. Extra humidity is beneficial. The creamy flowers appear only under good light conditions, and cool winter quarters are needed.
