The probability that a performance will be emitted within a specified interval is inferred by observing its frequency of occurrence under comparable conditions. Probability of a performance, a statistical term, has some of the connotations of "disposition to perform" or "an animal's inclination to engage in a performance." In almost every case it is possible to substitute "frequency of a performance" for "probability of a performance."
