Proteoglycan
A complex composed of glycosaminoglycans that radiate from a protein core in a bottlebrush-like structure. There are two major types of membrane proteoglycans: glypicans, which are anchored to the peripheral surface by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage; and syndecans, which contain transmembrane regions and short cytoplasmic tails.
