Radiodensity is a material's property of relative transparency to the passage of X-rays through it. Radiolucent indicates greater transparency to X-ray photons. For example, a radiolucent object permits the passage of x-rays without leaving a shadow on the film. Soft tissues are radiolucent; bones are not.
