Release condition

A formal condition or set of conditions set forth by one party in an agreement which, when met, allows the other party to take a particular action, such as to exit the agreement. For example, a company that enters into an agreement with a supplier could have a release condition that allows the company to exit the agreement if the supplier fails to deliver the requested goods during a certain time frame. See also release clause.
