Reliability of observation

In applied behaviour analysis, reliability of observation involves the amount of agreement among observers who independently record the same behavior. One way to assess reliability is to count the number of times two observers agree that a target behaviour did (or did not) occur. This can be expressed as a percentage agreement that varies from zero to 100%. Generally, applied behaviour analysts strive for reliability of greater than 80% agreement.
