Remembering

A response occasioned by a stimulus no longer present, perhaps directly or perhaps through the mediation of other behaviour with respect to that stimulus. Remembering is often discussed in terms of a metaphor of storage and retrieval, where storage occurs when the stimulus is presented, and retrieval occurs when it is recalled. The time between storage and retrieval is sometimes called the retention interval.
