scoring blow

A punch that lands cleanly on an opponent's torso or head and is hit with the knuckles. In amateur boxing there is a white stripe on the glove, to help determine if a punch has landed and should be scored. If three of the judges agree, within a one-second time frame, that the blow was good, then the boxer gets a point.
