Genus of more than 1000 species annuals, biennials, herbaceous perennials, climbers, shrubs, and small trees, some of them succulent. Senecio is a confusing genus. It includes the Cinerarias, several succulents and the Ivy-like climbers. At first glance both the German Ivy and Cape Ivy can be mistaken for one of the True Ivies.
