Shared writing

A form of modelled writing. The teacher listens to what the students say and scribes for them. For example, she may create complete sentences from a brainstormed list of words. The teacher supports students' efforts, suggests words and ideas, and invites them to reflect upon what they want to write. This interaction provides an opportunity for the teacher to model the thought processes that occur in writing.
