shotgun
In most competitions a 12-gauge over and under shotgun is used. The over and under refers to the weapon being able to hold two shotgun shells so the competitor can shoot at two targets simultaneously. Un-like rifles the barrel of a shotgun is smooth whereas a rifle has small grooves in the barrel to assist in the accuracy of the shot.
