A system that allows the player to adjust the speed of their ship, whether that be through powerups or at the players discretion. Players may wish for their ship to be slow if they want to make accurate dodges through waves of bullets, or fast if they want to avoid larger obstacles or move to different sides of the screen to attack more enemies.
