Immediate forward pass thrown deliberately into the ground in order to stop the clock; should only be done when the offense has no more timeouts and the time remaining in the half is such that the down in being wasted could never have been used anyway. Note: it takes about six seconds to run each play if the clock stops at the end of the play.
