Also called 3D bus. A large, elevated bus that straddles two lanes of a typical highway and moves on tracks. The built-in large opening (corridor) allows ordinary cars to travel through when the bus stops to unload/load passengers. The straddling bus is designed by China’s Shenzhen Hashi Future Parking Equipment Co. to help reduce city traffic jams. The first experimental project of the straddling bus is said to start operation in western Beijing around the end of 2010.
