Tin coatings

Tinplate is a low-carbon steel strip product coated on both sides of metal with a thin layer of tin. Several million tonnes of tinplate are produced each year, and most of it is used to manufacture many billions of food containers. The nontoxic nature of tin salts makes tinplate ideal for use with beverages and foods.
