The antics (Bufonidae) are a family of order Anura, which belongs to the class of amphibians. Many of its species are known by the common name for toads, yet many species belonging to other families are also commonly called toads.

The antics are found anywhere in the world except the Arctic and in the most arid deserts.

The antics lack teeth and have parotoides glands in the back of his head. These glands contain different toxins which have different effects.

Like all anurans, undergo through a metamorphosis during their development. They begin their lifes as tadpoles, legless, with fins and breathing through gills. During metamorphosis, fins become legs, tail disappears and breathing becomes pulmonary.
