Streak mark - white

Also known as silver streaks. There are a few different types:

  • Moisture - Streaking occurs opposite the flow direction, due to a high residual moisture content. Drying the material properly will remove this defect.
Air - Air is trapped and cannot escape while the mould is filling. The air is drawn to the surface and stretched in the direction of the flow causing streak marks.
