Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
Microprocessor mode
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
A mode in which the on-chip ROM or flash memory is disabled. This mode is selected with the MP/MC pin. See also MP/MC pin; microcomputer mode.
Gain stage
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
That portion of a circuit that increases a signal; also that portion of an algorithm that imposes a gain onto a digital signal.
Event flag
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
A bit in memory that is bound to either a port or a semaphore and that indicates whether a specific event has taken place.
Microcomputer mode
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
A mode in which the on-chip ROM or flash memory is enabled. This mode is selected with the MP/MC pin. See also MP/MC pin; microprocessor mode.
Fetch
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
That portion of a computer cycle during which the next instruction is retrieved from memory.
Present flag
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
A bit in the cache tag register associated with a cache subblock that indicates whether the information in the subblock is present in the cache.
Unified mode
Semiconductors; Digital Signal Processors (DSP)
A mode of operation for the direct memory access (DMA) coprocessor. The mode is used mainly for memory-to-memory transfers. This is the default mode of operation for a DMA channel. See also split ...
