Morning star

A planet, not a star, that can be seen in the east just before or at sunshine. The morning star is usually Venus or Mercury.
North Star

A bright star at the end of handle of the Little Dipper. The North Star is used to show which direction is north.
Nova

A star that explodes and becomes very bright. Because a nova only explodes at its surface, it returns to its original brightness soon.
Giant star

A star that has become very large and very bright because of the enormous heat in its center.
Little Dipper

A group of seven stars that form the outline of a dipper, or a large spoon. Four stars form the bowl of the dipper.
Neutron star

An object in space made of a very dense mass of neutrons. These are formed near the end of a star's existence, when the star's core collapses.
