Natural gas
Natural gas is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas mixture consisting primarily of methane, with up to 20 % of other hydrocarbons as well as impurities in varying amounts such as carbon dioxide. Natural gas is widely used as an important energy source in many applications including heating buildings, generating electricity, providing heat and power to industry, as fuel for vehicles and as a chemical feedstock in the manufacture of products such as plastics and other commercially important organic chemicals.

Diaphragm actuator
Energy; Natural gas
A linear valve actuator that consists of a housing divided into two chambers by a diaphragm, which is attached to a stem, which passes out of one chamber; pressurising either chamber produces linear ...
Diaphragm valve
Energy; Natural gas
A type of valve that uses a diaphragm as a flow control element; the diaphragm lines one side of the fluid path and is pushed across the fluid path
Disc
Energy; Natural gas
The flow control elemnt of a globe valve , cheque valve, or butterlfy valve.
Double block and bleed
Energy; Natural gas
The capability of a valve under pressure to obtain a seal across both the upstream and downstream seat rings and to have its body cavity bled down to atmospheric pressure.
Double-acting actuator
Energy; Natural gas
An actuator that uses external energy to both open and close the valve.
Double-disc gate
Energy; Natural gas
A flow control element of a gate valve that has to separate, parallel seating surfaces.
Double-seated valve
Energy; Natural gas
A valve that has two separate seating surfaces in its body; the flow control element comes into contact with both seats when the valve is closed.
