Film is displayed at a rate of 24 frames per second, and video is displayed at 30 frames per second. Therefore, when film content is displayed on a television, it must be converted from 24 frames to 30. This is done by a process called 3:2 Pulldown. However, this conversion can cause artifacts. 3:2 Pulldown Detection and Compensation properly reconstructs film-based (24 fps) video and eliminates the artefacts and jagged edges that are caused by improper processing of film-based content.
