Arsene Wenger
Arsene Wenger was born on October 22, 1949 in Strasbourg France. He started his playing career at amateur club Mutzig and later made his professional debut for Strasbourg in 1978 helping the club secure the French title though he made only three appearances for the club that season. His managerial career started at Strasbourg as a youth team coach. In 1987 he was appointed manager of Monaco, during his first season at the club he won the French championship and was voted manager of the year. During his spell at Monaco the team never finished outside the top three and won the French cup in 1991, were runners up in the European cup winner's cup final in 1992. He signed for Arsenal September 1996, since then he has presided over more matches than any Arsenal manager, no other manager of the club has enjoyed the same amount of success like him. Three League titles, four FA Cups and four Community Shields have been amassed in his 11 years at the helm, including League and Cup 'doubles' in 1998 and 2002. He is well known for his ability to spot and develop young talent around the world. Rarely has he sold one of his stars and regretted the decision. He knew exactly when Petit, Overmars, Anelka and Vieira had reached their peak at Arsenal. Even when Thierry Henry, arguably their greatest ever player, was sold, Wenger's young team looked a better side without him. Without their star player dominating the attack, Arsenal was playing exceptional football.
