Art Clokey was an artist who specialised in and popularised stop motion clay animation. Born on October 12, 1921, Clokey died on January 8, 2010. He is most well-known for his creation (with his wife Ruth) of Gumby. The clay animation Gumby would appear on the Howdy Doody Show and later in The Adventures of Gumby.
