Connecticut, nicknamed "The Constitution State" or "The Nutmeg State" is a U.S. state located in the New England as well as the metropolitan New York regions of the northeastern portion of the United States. It shares borders with Rhode Island on the East; Massachusetts on the north; state of New York on the west and south. Connecticut is the 29th most populous state. Its capital is Hartford. Other major cities are Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, Norwalk, Danbury, and New Britain.
