Conservation Reserve Enhancement programme (CREP)

A sub programme of the Conservation Reserve Program, CREP is a state-federal multi-year land retirement programme developed by states and targeted to specific state and nationally significant water quality, soil erosion, and wildlife habitat problems. The CREP offers higher payments per acre to participants than the CRP, and perhaps other benefits as well. States with approved programmes include Maryland, Minnesota, Illinois, New York, Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina.
