Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)

Since 1995, Transparency International (TI) publishes the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) annually ranking countries in terms of the degree to which corruption is believed to exist among public officials and politicians. It is a complex index drawing on corruption-related data from expert and business surveys carried out by various independent and well-known institutions. It ranks almost 200 countries on a scale of zero to 10, with zero indicating high levels of corruption and 10 indicating low levels.
