Crowne Plaza Invitational

The Crowne Plaza Invitational is a PGA golf tournament played annually in May in Fort Worth, Texas on the course at the Colonial Country Club. It is one of five invitation only tournaments held on the PGA Tour with a reduced field of approximately 125 players, as opposed to most full-field open tournaments having a field of 156 players. The other four PGA invitationals are the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Heritage, the Memorial Tournament, and the AT&T National. The Crowne Plaza Invitational is the longest running event on the Tour held at the original site.

The 2012 Crowne Plaza Invitational had a total of $6,400,000 prize money. The 1st prize payout of $1,152,000 was collected by Zach Johnson, winner of the tournament by a single shot ahead of Jason Dufner. Johnson was also awarded 500 FedEx Cup points for his 1st place finish.
