French Fourth Republic

The French Fourth Republic was the republican government of France from 1946 to 1958. The republic grew out of the Provisional Government of the French Republic after World War II, though being based on the French Third Republic it suffered many of the same problems and the Fifth Republic was established in 1959 resulting from a colonial crisis and 20 governments in just ten years.
