Hanging gardens of Babylon
Built on the banks of Euphrates River circa in 600 B. C. it is believed to have been constructed during the time of king Nebuchadnezzar 11 to console his median wife, Amytis, who missed the mountains and the greenery of her home land. The gardens did not really hang but were built on terraces that were irrigated by water from river Euphrates.
