(1973- ) Ioan Gruffudd is a Welsh actor famous for his roles as Lancelot in King Arthur (2004), Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards) in Fantastic Four (2005) and the sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) among others. The popular Welsh name "Ioan" is an equivalent of "John", and "Gruffudd" corresponds to the Anglicised "Griffith", but although it would be easier to change it, he is proud of his roots and wants to keep it. He is married to the British actress Alice Evans and they have a daughter called Ella Betsi Janet Gruffudd. He is currently living in Los Angeles.
