J-15 fighter jet
Also known as the Flying Shark, J-15 is the first generation Chinese carrier-based fighter aircraft developed by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. Comparable to the Russian Su-33 jet and the U.S. F-18, J-15 is powered by two domestically produced Taihang engines to give the aircraft a large weapons payload capability. It also features folding wings, shortened tail cone and strengthened landing gear, all of which are essential to serve on an aircraft carrier. The J-15 is designed to carry many types of anti-ship, air-to-air, and air-to-ground missiles, allowing the jet to function as a multi-purpose fighter.
