Jean-Jacques Annaud (born 1 October 1943) is a French film director, film producer and screenwriter. His first film, 'Black and White in Color' (1976), was based on his own military experience in Cameroon and was awarded with the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He has also received two César Awards for his third film, 'Quest for Fire'.
