German composer, pianist, and conductor Johannes Brahms (7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was one of the most significant composers of the nineteenth century. His works combine the warm feeling of the Romantic period with the control of classical influences such as Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) and Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827).
