John Updike

John Updike is an American writer of novels, poems, short storeys and art/literary critics. He is most well-known for his Rabbit series, which followed the life of protagonist Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom. The series is composed of four novels and a novella: Rabbit, Run, Rabbit Redux, Rabbit is Rich, Rabbit At Rest, and Rabbit Remembered.

Updike is legendary for writing about small-town America with themes that centre around religion, sex, and death. He is one of three authors to have won the Pulitzer Prize more than once (alongside Booth Tarkington and William Faulkner). Updike received the Pulitzer for Rabbit is Rich and Rabbit At Rest.
