Kenneth Lay

Kenneth Lay was an American businessman who is known principly for his role in the Enron corruption scandal. Lay was CEO and Chairman of Enron from its founding in 1985 until his resignation in 2002 except for a short period in 2002 when he appointed Jeffrey Skillings as CEO. In July, 2004 Lay was indicted on 11 counts of securities fraud and related charges. Lay died July 5, 2006 of a heart attack while vacationing in Colorado.
