Manuel Jalón

Manuel Jalón Corominas (1925 - 2011) was a Spanish inventor. He was an Aeronautical engineer and officer of the Air Force in Zaragoza Air Base. He invented the mop with wringer and the disposable syringe. In 1956 he began the manufacture of mops using a broomstick joined to a tuft of cotton strips that drained into a bucket with rollers driven by a pedal. Jalón died at dawn on December 16, 2011 in Zaragoza, at age 86 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
