Marvor float (MARVOR)

A multicycle RAFOS type float developed by IFREMER and TEKELEC (nowMARTEC). A MARVOR float cycles several times between the surface and its planned depth during its mission. When it surfaces it sends the data collected to the ARGOS satellite which relays it to land-based stations. It is equipped with a hydraulic system that controls its depth by transferring oil from an internal reservoir to the external ballast.
