Mel Gibson

(1956- ) Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson is an American (Gibson holds dual Irish and American citizenship thanks to her Irish mother) actor, director, producer and screenwriter.

In 1977, Gibson started starring the series Mad Max, which made him famous, but he continued working as a stage actor at the same time. He made his film debut in 1977 in Summer City. Gibson has appeared in several films such as The Year of Living Dangerously or Braveheart.

In 1989 Gibson co-founded Icon Productions, and few years later he made his debut as a film director in 1993 with The Man Without a Face. Among the most famous films that he has directed are The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.

In 1980 he married Robyn Denise Moore and they had one daughter and six sons. In 2006 they decided to separate and they got divorced in 2009. The same year, Gibson presented Grigorieva, his new girlfriend, and they had a daughter. After some legal issues and a domestic violence incident, they separated.

Gibson has been accused of homophobia, antisemitism, racism, and misogyny, although he has apologised and denied that they represent his real opinions.
