Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)
The multiannual financial framework (previously known as the financial perspective) is intended to ensure that EU spending takes a well-ordered course within the limits of its resources. The financial framework sets the sum of total spending for the entire term, fixes annual limits for each category of spending and apportions funds to specific spending programmes across specific years. The new proposed MFF covers a period of seven years (2014-2020).
