Morrocan author Muriel Barbery was born on May 28, 1969. She is a French novelist as well as a philosophy professor. She has written two novels so far, her debut novel, Une Gourmandise (2000) translated as Gourmet Rhapsody. Her second novel, L'Élégance du hérisson (2006), sold more than one million copies in two years. It's translated name is The Elegance of the Hedgehog.
