The name of a skull found in Piltdown quarry, in Sussex, England. It was thought to belong to an animal that was the missing link between humans and a previous life form on our evolution path.

The skull is proven to be a fake nowadays, it is an orangutang skull that has been slightly modified by humans. The perpetrator of the fake is unknown, but is most likely Martin Hinton, a museum volunteer with motives unknown.
