Ravi Shankar
Ravi Shankar (April 1920 - December 2012) was an Indian sitar player who gained worldwide recognition from his association with the Beatles and for his leading role in popularising classical Indian music around the globe.
Ravi won multiple Grammy awards, most notably an Oscar for the film score he composed for Ghandi.
One of his daughters, Anoushka, is also a talented sitar player herself, while another, Norah Jones, is a multi-Grammy winning singer-songwriter.
