Reddit (stylized as reddit) is a social news website where the registered used submits content either in the form of a link or a 'self' post. Other users can then vote the submission 'up' or 'down', which is used to ran the post and determine its position on the site's pages and front page.

The site was originally founded in 2005 and acquired by Condé Nast Publications in 2006. In 2011 it became a subsidiary of Condé Nast's parent company, Advance Publications.
