T-DM1 is an experimental treatment method to deliver new classes of cancer drugs that may be more effective and less toxic than currently existing treatments. The treatment harnesses antibodies, delivering toxic payloads to cancer cells. However, unlike regular cancer treatments, it spares most healthy cells. This treatment prevents many unwanted side-effects of cancer treatment, such as hair loss and nail discoloration.

As of June, 2012, the treatment is in clinical trials with such drugs as Adcetris. This treatment process is expected to forever change the way cancer is medically treated, and will help cancer patients cope better with treatments.
