The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom that premiered on September 2007. It is based around five central characters, four of whom are male scientists and the other is a an aspiring actress and waitress who lives next to two of the main characters. Much of the show focuses on science and the characters frequently make science-related jokes. The sitcom is currently in its fifth season and has viewing figures of over 14 million in the United States.
