The Voice is a television series that began in the Netherlands, titled The Voice of Holland. The basis of the series is to find the best singer. All contestants of the series are chosen from public auditions, similar to that of American Idol.

The series has spread to the US, Canada, and Belgium. On April 26, 2011, the US-based series premiered, hosted by Carson Daly and Alison Haislip. The singing coaches are Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton.
