Tim Samaras (1958-May 31, 2013) was a seasoned American storm chaser who holds the Guinness World Record for measuring the lowest pressure of a tornado and is the only person to collect video from inside a tornado. Born in Lakewood, Colorado, Samaras began interested in tornadoes at the age of six and became actively involved in chasing storms for over 30 years. A member of the TWISTEX team of storm chasers, Samaras appeared in a number of TV documentary programs including 'Storm Chasers' on Discovery.

Tim Samaras, along with his 24-year-old son, Paul Samaras, and a 45-year-old colleague were killed in May 2013 as they chased several tornadoes that tore through Oklahoma.
