Torkoal are small, tortoise-like Pokémon with large black rock-like shells with "holes" that glow with a red warmth. Their skin is a reddish brown in colour with gray-black bands on their legs and neck. They have long necks and their eyes seem permanently closed. They are usually depicted blowing out smoke from their nostrils and the tops of their backs.
